well, for batch conversions, Photo Laboratory is the only tool i have that 
works OK. Thumbs+ is broken, and i don't see a nice way of creating a 
Photoshop action. i care mostly when i am processing a batch of images for 
use in panorama stitching software where i want all the images to be 
processed identically.

Yes it's all quite flaky, you have to use the "eye" icon on the toolbar to
select file file types to be displayed. Most of my 16 bit tiff edits it
indicates are broken whereas the old version displayed them OK. I can't 
open
PhotoLab any longer, the toolbar button recedes, waits a while and then 
returns
to normal without invoking the application. Remote Assistant 1.01 works 
fine.
Thankfully I've got PS CS and ThumbsPlus.
