It's been a while since I posted a favorites list. So my almost totally subjective list of favorites for the month (with a little bit of subjective and objective comments) are:

Ten Mile Point by Martin Mielke

I like the 'Aloneness' of the shot. The grays, blues, and blacks make for a nice concentrated color palette (listen to me... ). This shot also has one thing that intrigues me about some landscapes. It arouses my curiosity and makes me want to venture into the scene. For example, I want to go out to the island and walk though its forest and on its shore. Look back on the point from where it was taken. I think the simplicity of this shot draws the viewer in, creating a little mystery that generates some excitement. The more I look the more I get lost in it. Yeah!

Into the Sea by Boris Liberman

Simple, with just a few elements make this stand out. A strong composition. I knew I should have stopped wearing the white speedos. :)

Blue Hawaii by Fred Widall

Pretty blue water and nice composition with the tree. It looks out of focus or unsharp. I played with it a little in Photoshop. An unsharp mask cleans it up quite a bit.

Denali at Midnight by Ann Sanfedele

Cold. The mountain disappears into the sky. Going there this summer, BTW.

Waterland by Harald Rust

Nice shot with symmetry and perspective. I find the plants in the foreground a little distracting. If I crop into an exact square, removing the bottom it strikes me as particularly strong.

Lady in Blue by Henk Terhell

Quite interesting and VERY blue.

Trabant With Blue Accents by Joseph Tainter

I'm a sucker for classic cars, especially ones that are white w/blue striping or vice-versa.

Bluebirds by Robert Gonzalez

Wonderful! Very hard to catch, I've tried numeous times. Pilot detail adds as well.

Ice by Billy Abbott Good abstract. Very nice.

Lemon by Steve Morphet

Very cool! Speaks for itself. I take it you must have masked the stem spot? Nice touch.

Blue by Wendy Beard

Very strong image with just a few elements. I like it. Not a criticism, but consider the same with lamp turned so no cord is visible. I'd also probably use a tiripod to ensure prefect levelness. Nice.

Blue Booze by Paul Stenquist

Great shot. Electric blue. Love the ice.
