Just got back my latest 2 sets of photos. There are a
few surprises in there, mainly photos I forgot I had
taken. I have a couple of a miniature rose with a
dandylion "fairy" sitting nicely on it. They came out
really nicely. The lighting and the DOF are very nice.

However I have a few out of focus ones. I was using
autofocus for these and they were inside. I never had
focus problems with my Spotmatic. And the manual focus
on my MZ-30 isn't so good, as there is nothing to
focus on. I hope I find an LX soon.

I have a lot of photos of Melbourne Zoo in this lot as
well. I tried to get the lions without their cage, so
it looked like I was standing right next to them in
the wild, but I couldn't get rid of the cage. My lens
will only give f5.6 when zoomed to 80mm, and I don't
think this was enough. Any suggestions for getting rid
of cages?

The ones I took of the meerkats and fairy penguins
came out quite nicely though. I quite enjoy
photographing wildlife when I get the chance (which
isn't often).

Also I took a few self-portraits in the mirror. I
tried one without the camera by angling it upwards,
but ended up with just the very top of my head. That
was my one without the flash, but I think the exposure
time was wrong anyway. Then I took a couple with
flash. One came out OK, but you can't see my face. The
other I tried to put the camera under my chin, but I
cut myself in half sideways. I guess I should try
these with my tripod. They were handheld I think.

Jody.
