Hopefully, this weekend I'll be able to catch up on some old PAWs and PESOs that have been kicking around my inbox for a while. I think this is the oldest. Let's start from the top: Canon Girl Revisited: I can't say I like this much, Peter. It just isn't very flattering for the poor girl. Bloodshot eyes, wrinkled brow, focus on the wrong (back) eye. I suspect that she's quite a pretty girl, but one would never know it from this shot. She might have a lovely smile in this photo, but who would know? You've cut off the bottom 1/2 of her mouth! The lighting doesn't help much either. Sorry to be brutal, but I have to be honest. Just doesn't work for me (or her, I suspect). Sony Boy: I like this one a lot!! Here's a kid with 'tude. My father, some 30 years ago would have said, "Get a haircut, turn the hat around the right way, get that crap off your neck, use yer viewfinder, and GET THAT BUTT OUTTA YER MOUTH!" I like it, though. You framed the cig perfectly between his hands, and it looks like you caught him at or near the moment he pressed the shutter release. A fun shot!! Haircut with Attitude: A photo with real personality. If a portrait is supposed to tell us something of the personality of the subject, I suspect you've succeeded here. Terrific grab, wonderful photo. See, I started off nasty (but honest), but I finished with a flourish of kudos. I guess that ain't all bad... <vbg> cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson
