They are sort of a scourge on the countryside in which they plant themselves, but... razing our White House in retaliation was hardly cricket!
I guess you had to be there! <g>
Those were uncivilised times.
THOSE were uncivilised times?
Hah!
Now the barbarians dress differently, and most of them have law degrees! The very worst, who combine all those characteristics, just happen to be politicians.
Now we would set up a Royal commission or some such, with the goal of coming up with an agreeable name which we could then present to an inter country species-naming dispute panel (Toronto Courier Pidgeons, for example).
The ICSD would arbitrarily assign a name that no one was in agreement about, such as Ottawa Citizens, which we would grumble about, but we would adopt the new name, while your country continued to refer the them as Canada Geese.
We would then take the dispute to the international species naming dispute panel, which most likely would rule in our favour.
And you would continue to refer the them as Canada geese........
Excellent! And I'd bet not far from the truth!
Burning down your White House may seem harsh, but think of the boredom that was spared for those of us living in this time.
I do believe it!
When I was a kid, many, many years ago, burning down someones outhouse was good Hollowe'en fun!
Think how badly the residents who had no indoor facilities felt!
Of course, I personally never did anything like that, but... it was talked about, and in my recollection, not with stern admonitions by the parents or anything...
Today I'm absolutely aghast!
I think those were "the good ol' days" simply because they were too stupid, ignorant and ill-mannered to have any consideration for others... Barbarians by definition.
