I don't know that any T's actually came with a right hand gear
change, as they were introduced as 1975 model year: the year the
US regulation for a left-hand gear change went into effect.
However, since they implemented both rear brake and shifter with
a pair of crossover shafts, it's easy to make them either left
or right gear change as desired. I've often thought about
switching this one to a right hand, up for low pattern as that
has always been the most comfortable gear change for me on a
bike. (Much of my "formative riding years" were spent on Norton
750 and Ducati 750 machines with that pattern...)
Thanks, I expect the engine overhaul will go very quickly once I
get to wrenching. :-)
