Cool shot; I'm surprised you didn't get in close to the member and use your fisheye... I suppose that would have dimished the parliament buildings in the BG. Actually, ignore that comment, it's nice how it is.

Cheers,

Taken a few weeks ago, on my daytrip to Ottawa, Canada's capital city.
After our skate on the Rideau Canal, we walked up to the Parliament
Buildings, to say "hi" to our Prime Minister, but he wasn't in (I
guess he didn't get my message that I might be by) <g>.

As we walked in front of the Parliament Buildings (that's them in the
background, centred by the Peace Tower), I saw this scene:

and thought, "There's something essentially Canadian happening here" <vbg>.

I was thinking of an alternate title like "Our Latest Member of
Parliament", but resisted such taunts at our elected members... <g>

As an aside, I was quite pleasantly surprised at how accessible the
Parliament Buildings are to the public, and the lack of armed guards
all over the place; I hadn't been to see them in decades, and feared
that perhaps in a post 9/11 kneejerk reaction, armed guards might be
surrounding the place or something. Happily, not.

Anyway, back on topic: please feel free to comment - good or bad, yay
or nay - it's all fine with me. Thanks!

cheers,
frank
