Some time ago there was a discussion here about the rlative merits of Compact Data and Secure Data cards, both of which are used in Pentax digital cameras. I have an SD card in my Optio S and a CD card in my *ist D.
I recently bought a relatively inexpensive Toshiba LapTop Computer. I just now discovered that it has an SD card slot built right into the side of the computer. Neat. Looks like I can just pop the card out of the Optio, pop it into the computer, and go right to Photo Shop.
Has anyone tried this yet? (I'm at work and don't have the Optio with me, otherwise I would try it myself right away.
The Toshi laptop I have does not have a socket for cards directly but you can use an adaptor in the PMwhatsit slot and read the CF card for the Optio straight into whatever you want. You can also write back to the card. It's noticably slower than using the HDD.
