It seems it's difficult to have a good camera without any fault....
My (in)famous third LX, although very nice and almost unused, shows what I
call a heck of a problem: it's impossible to focus properly using the upper
and the lower parts of the focusing screen.
To put it clearer: when I focus with the split-image aid in the center of the
screen the image is correctly focused. Without moving the camera, trying to
focus on the same axis using the matte part of the screen in the upper part of
the viewfinder means rotating the focusing ring to closer distance, the
inverse (and even worse) trying to focus with the lower part.
Before somebody ask me, I tried different screens and viewfinders. The problem
is still there.
I know that something about the alignment of the mirror is really wrong, but
I'd like to know what your experiences about similar problems are before I
take the camera to the Pentax central assistance in Florence.
