I would guess because with the advent of a 645D, it seems pretty unlikely
we'll see a 24X36 full frame 35mm-style DSLR anytime if at all....
They appear to be commited to APS sized sensors for the small format cameras. There are something like six small image circle lenses either being made, or waiting for Nguyen to ramp up the assembly line.
If they go the 645 route for their "pro" line digital cameras, it would be consistent with the company's strategy of
35mm for amateurs, medium format for professionals.
