Quite the contrary. I have no firm idea of what this stuff is worth. If
for example the SF1n is *really* worth $100, and I *think* it's worth $150,
then I would be ripping her off if I give her a deal of $115. I also don't
want to give it away for $75 if it is really worth $200. I cannot form a
basis of what to offer it for unless I have a firm idea of what it is worth
in the marketplace.

If I was going for top dollar, I would put the stuff on Ebay with a reserve
and see how high the price would go. Then repeat the ad until it goes for
at or over top market value.

Using Ebay is a difficult assessment, because some stuff goes for well over
and under what it is really worth. And with used stores like B&H, I can't
see the equipment to compare to mine and I would assume that they are asking
top dollar.

I am not asking for anyone to do my research for me. If they happen to know
what a piece of equipment is worth off the top of their head, then I would
certainly appreciate an answer. Otherwise I am just looking for pointers to
definitive references (if there are any).

Sounds like you are more interested in getting top dollar for
the gear than in getting her started cheaply. This is just an
observation from reading what you wrote. I realize some people
have problems writing what they really mean.
