Because we are lazy?

This thread made me check. I had not backed up my data drive since 11/11/04.
Whew! At least I am smart enoungh to have my mail client keep its files on the
data drive (after losing everything last year). Except for my check register,
which IS backed up after every session, nothing is that critical on my system,
but I really should back up that data drive every week. I mean that is why I
bought the DVD recorder.

"System" restore has its function in the name Don.

Nothing replaces multiple (at least 5) regular backup sets and one stored on
a different location and never been overwritten.

Why is this simple rule so difficult to teach?

That didn't work in my case, but it's worth a shot if it's XP and an appropriate restore point exists.

Mark ... just a shot in the dark here: have you tried a system restore?
