Based on a press release a couple of years ago (I think it was), I believe this isn't a case of Pentax buying an off-shelf sensor from Kodak. It was said that Pentax and Kodak had signed an agreement of developing a digital solution for Pentax MF. I think it is resonable to assume that Pentax have had serious input in the sensor design, something that makes this DSLR different from almost all other digital solution for MF that are, as far as I know, based on off-the-shelf commodities.
