What was it? How did it die?
When I was living in Calgary, the house I lived in burned. I got off lucky, most of my stuff (cameras) was in my bedroom in the basement. I lost my stereo and some records.
As an aside, records that melt out of their sleeves are really cool objects when the drips harden.
I should have taken pictures....
Anyway, my roomates Nikons (an F2 and an F2s) were sitting in the room that took most of the heat damage, and then they got cooled quickly with fresh mountain water from a big ass garden hose.
I don't recall if they ever worked again or not. They were sure messed up.
