I use RAW exclusively. But in the few times I've fooled around with jpeg on the *istD, i've noticed a significant loss of detail and tonal gradation. I think Pentax could probably do a better job with their in-camera processing, but it matters not to me. I have no plans to shoot jpegs. Paul
