Paul, it seems to me that just the opposite is the truth ie -
+ that's only a problem for fine art photography. As far as photojpurnalism is 
concerned, truth is irrelevant.

Agreed. But that's only a problem for photojournalism. As far as fine art 
photography is concerned, truth is irrelevant.
