Hi Tom,

No it's me alright, no one really tests the things that interest me. Most 
published lens test are simple monochrome sharpness/distortion tests. These and 
MTF graphs only provide a rudimentary indication of how a lens will perform. 
For DSLR intents (I rarely shoot film now) nearly any decent lens will out-
perform the current Sony sensor sharpness wise (I didn't even have to work at 
JPL to work that out). However a lenses prevalence to exhibit CA or flare can 
really only be gained by looking at test shots as can bokeh etc.
