I don't know how I feel about this one. At one viewing I like it, another time I don't. One thing I'm almost sure of, the noise and grain and lack of detail really takes away from the impact it could have. Not being able to clearly see what may arguably be the most important aspect of the photo, that small piece which tells the story, is a real detriment.
I like the position of the fellow, his relationship to the building and the steps, and the off kilter angle of the steps, and the photo could be quite strong were it not for the noise and the grain. Also, since this was taken at dusk, and the light was low, the photo may look better a little darker. I did a quick fiddle with it, and seeing the mans complexion and jacket a little darker made the photo feel more alive and interesting. It's a good photo, perhaps more in its potential than its actualization. Right now I'm liking it more than when i started this message.
