Keith, It weighs 8.0 lb (3.64 kg) including everything but the photo gear. The neoprene sheet is not solid, it takes advantage of the case's internal structure, and of the gear being stored in it. There are really only three levels of neoprene sheet (in addition to the bottom and side padding). I'll put some pics on my web site update (which isn't yet finished, and is long overdue).
