It actually tested quite well in Modern Photo back when it came out (early
1980's) along with the ME-F. I think it's a decent enough fast zoom
(comparable to Tokina's AT-X 35-70/2.8), but is a nuisance to use as a
manual focus lens - not only is there a "useless" (for manual focus) big
blob (battery box, etc.) hanging on the bottom of the lens barrel, but the
focus ring is worse than on the F 50/2.8 Macro. It is (in my opinion) only
worth having for a historical match for a collectible ME-F (and I do have
two of 'em for that reason, one each for my chrome ME-F and my black ME-F).
It's fun to use in (primitive) autofocus mode on a ME-f once in a while,
but I don't think that it has much use otherwise (in my humble opinion).
