When I was a kid, I whined and kicked and screamed with sufficient volume and tenacity, that my parents bought me one of those propeller beanies. Not just any propeller beanie, mind you, but an official Beanie and Cecil (anyone remember that cartoon from the early 60's?) propeller beanie.
Oh yeah! My Dad just raved about it! He wouldn't shut up! So I bought him one.

But, why not. He was a good dad... With him it wasn't pull my finger," it was "pull this cord!" Just as embarrassing, believe you me!
Upon pulling a ring at the end of a cord, the propeller flew up into the air, just like Beanie's one did in the cartoon!
It didn't have flashing lights though, as I remember it. I loved that hat. Wish I still had it. I'd take it onto the Antiques Roadshow, then sell it on eBay...
Hey! I'd bet you could get a good buck on that! If you had one...
