Hi Fred,
I see no baffling on the mount nor any evidence of machine work. I compared the 
mount to that of my M200/4, and it's identical. Both have a small shield next 
to the aperture lever, but nothing else that I would call a flange or baffle. I 
also have a Vivitar S! 90/2.5 macro, again a very early version. It too has a 
conventional k mount. However, itt doesn't have the aperture lever shield. I 
don't think I've ever seen a lens with this extra baffling, but I own very few 
non-Pentax lenses.
