I'm surprised to hear you say you don't like the results from the Adobe Raw Converter. What is it you don't like? After more than a year of using it and several thousand RAW conversions, I find I can achieve almost any result I want. The options seems almost infinitely variable.

Basically yes, but:
1) I don't like the results from Adobe Raw Converter (perhaps the next version in CS 2 will be better?)
2) I would like to apply the settings globally to a set of photos, just like one applies e.g. the WB setting or the levels setting to a group of photos in RSE or C1.
That's my preference :)
