before you get too far along, just what exactly is your hardware? CPU and 
RAM are the most important things. CS2 requires Windows 2000 SP4 or Windows 
XP SP1. systems that ran Win98SE and PS 6 perfectly are not necessarily 
going to run Windows 2000 or XP reasonably. i personally do not recommend 
either of these 2 operating systems on anything less than a 1GHz Pentium III 
with 512M RAM to do minimal Photoshop CS.

The Pentax content here is that I want to get Photoshop CS 2 and its PEF 
converter.

My Windows 98SE installation has finally brought me to the point where I 
will accept the pain of formatting two hard drives and starting over with 
a clean installation, reinstall a lot of software and utilities, spend 
months configuring same, etc.
