Here in Belgium, you have to pay (100�) to get the Raw convertor with the Nikon 
D70.  I thought in the US the situation was similar.

As far as I understand DNG is a container format.  The raw information is 
stored inside on predefined places. So there should be no interpretation on 
pixel level.  But I could be wrong...
