Thanks Hans. Actually, I focused on his eyes, which are on the same plane as that hair sticking out from his ears. I had to shoot at 5.6 to get enough light from a ceiling bounce, so his nose may indeed be a bit soft. I'd have to look at a blowup of the big file to be sure. My old eyes aren't good enough to determine that from a web image.

Hi,

very moody protrait and well handled contrast. May be moving the plane
of focus closer to the nose would improve the overall scene. The hair in
the left upper background seems to be quite sharp whereas the nose is not.
