A multi-thousand dollar case of equipment? Of course I've got it insured! I've got an all-risks rider on my home insurance policy (with State Farm). It covers my gear for just about anything, anywhere. With a $500 deductible I think it costs me around $1 to $1.50 per $100 of coverage. That includes my motorsport photography - that's still classified as amateur use (or so says my State Farm agent). Professional/business coverage would be a bit more.
