I dont like the squirking sound of the *ist D CF-card door getting crushed by my right thumb. And the shape of the grip is better on the DS - a little like that of the MZ-S, which is brilliant, ergonomic design. Other than that I love the *ist D, and I'm sure the body is at least as durable as the electronics. Except perhaps for the two doors (battery and CF card, which are kind of flimsy. Anyone broke one of these yet? Regards Jens mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://hjem.get2net.dk/bladt

I don't think there is a significant difference in quality. Both are fine cameras. There are some control differences, with the *istD being aimed at a more experienced photographer. But the important difference to me was the availability of the battery grip on the *istD. I prefer the extended battery life, the feel of a larger camera, and the convenience of a side mounted shutter release for vertical shooting. A new *istD is still priced higher than the *istDS at B&H. In fact, it's still at the same price it was at when I bought my second camera about 9 months ago. I haven't seen the two cameras offered new at the same price. Where did you see this?
