Depends on what you define as heavy.
My little video clip had the camera mounted on a Manfrotto 027 (029?) I don't recall which.
It's pretty heavy duty.


I have used the 6x7 successfully off a Manfrotto 055, but it is a marginal tripod at best.
Mirror shake isn't a problem, but shutter induced vibration can be.
I found that resting my hand on the prism during exposure mitigates most of the shake.
