Hi Joseph there are a lot of Adaptec SCSI cards on the market and most of the PCI types are supported under XP.
Are you sure that your Scanner is terminated if it is the last device in the scsi chain and the adapter has termination set to on too or does it automatically (default) ? You should have an external Terminator plug or a switch on the scanner to set termination on. You can try installing the newest SCSI drivers from Adaptec for the *exact type* of your card and ASPI 4.7 you get them on www.adaptec.com. Some older SCSI scanners simply do not work under XP, like some Epson types, but there is still hope: look for the freeware "Easyscan", it works with some SCSI scanners where the supplied software does not. Worth trying.., it helped me with an old HP SCSI scanner under XP. This would be a good workaround. Otherwise, buy a USB one, it's not worth the hassle. greetings Markus >>-----Original Message----- >>From: Joseph Tainter [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >>Sent: Wednesday, May 11, 2005 2:59 AM >>To: [email protected] >>Subject: Semi OT: Need PC Help Again (a bit long) >> >> >>I need to call again on my computer support team.
