Like you, I'm recently *ist DS enabled, and working my way through
it's many features.  I think I'm going to like the camera.....

I replaced the strap with one from the Z/MZ series, so that I could
store the plastic covers from the eyepiece and hotshoe in the pockets
on those straps  (great idea - pity Pentax dropped them from the D/DS
strap).

The manual is very light on on advice on using older lenses.  The main
section that deals with it is the table on page 179.  This deals with
changing the default setting for using the aperture ring on lenses. 
I haven't tried older lenses yet but, from what I can see you have to
change the default before you can use older lenses successfully.

I would have preferred the various metering modes to have been
accessible from the Fn menu rather than being buried in another menu.


My main gripe, however,  is the very redimentary section on using
external flashes.  The info on Page 153 really isn't good enough.   A
fair bit of trial and error is going to be necessary with this.....
