I agree Paul - the flare is most annoying and, at least for me, unacceptable. Still, when used within its capabilities, the Zenitar is a good lens and a very good value.
The Zenitar that I had displayed very good flare resistance. I think the shot that Doug shoed on the PUG is about the only way to get the thing to flare seriously. I did some shots straight into the sun with little or no flare at all.
