I agree, very much, about contacting the other party if there's a
problem, and neutral ratings not being useful.  

I got into some dicey situations recently selling old stuff, anxious
moments, but once the buyers and I started corresponding, we worked
everything out satisfactorily.

I think all the stories that get told on the 'Net heightens folks'
paranoia about ebay.
