Thanks Mark.
That's not bad is it? I believe the FA 24-90mm is widely regarded as a fine
lens.
In the beginneing I did't like the F-zooms much - in regard to build
quality. They look kinda toy'ish.
Now I have had the F70-210mm and the F35-80mm for some time. They both work
flawlessly and produce amazingly good results, when the cost, size, weight
etc. is taken into consideration.

I'd love to see your test shots.

I had the opportunity to use a FA2.0/24mm for reception at a hotel. I found
that it's a brilliant lens for close-up reportage photography, dinner
parties etc. I have noticed that this is what the PJ's do. They use a wide
angle and go very close to the subject (people). At F.8 anything will be
sharp regardless of the focusing distance. I love the 24mm focal length.
Even on a D it seem to get enough AOV. Otherwise I use my 20mm MF. But I'd
rather have a zoom for this kind of work.
My next investment will have to be something with a "14" or a "18" included
in the name :-)

I actually shot a test session comparing this lens and several others on
the same scene at the same aperture... but I haven't had time to prep
them or put them on line yet. Perhaps some time next week.

My initial impression is that it's very similar to the FA 24-90 in image
quality.
