I actually try to push the exposure on fly shots to bring out the specular highlights. Without it the bug looks a little flat. They have that nice greasy look to their hair that I want to capture :-)

Wonderful images Mark, however I find the light shining off the small
details (especially in the first image) to be distracting. I'm talking about
the "specs of white" especially along the edge of the leaf and the body
