In my experience, the most widely attended and faithfully appreciated
lists are those that allow diversity in subject matter.
I sometimes find it hard to remain faithful to my credo, which is, if
you don't like what you're reading, exercise your delete button...
Most people are not rigid, single interest people, and have other things
that occupy their daily thoughts.
Sometimes a bit of that slops over into the list conversations. No real
harm done...
