I had used the Nikon D1X and D1H quite a bit before purchasing the *ist D.
The only thing I found lacking was the buffer. I am not one to just
mash the button down and let the camera take the shots. But, I do take
quite a few shots while shooting action photos and have on a few
occassions had to wait for the *ist D to clear the buffer enough to see
continue shooting.
Waiting to see the LCD is not a bother to me,
