It is only used in one of two positions anyway.
You wouldn't... unless the body doesn't move it *far enough*. If
the body thinks it needs to move the lever 0.050" (2 stops from full open
from my quickie, ad-hoc measurements), but the M lens needs 0.100" to go
fully stopped from fully opened, it's not going to move far enough.
