I've shot with 3 different PZ-1p's, and each has had a
slightly different sound.  None has had a sound like a
spring resonating, though.  They have all been quieter
than the PZ-1.

The slowing winder toward the end of a roll (or a long
series of motorized shots) is the sign of a fading
battery on my PZ-1, but the PZ-1p's have kept up full
speed right until the low-battery signal has appeared.

I wonder if all is well with the winder in your
camera.
