Is that a good thing in your eyes?  I'm thinking from the rest of your

Hmmm...  Maybe.  I kind of like it there, but I really don't know.

Pretty much.  I had a screwmount home-made extension tube that I took
a very few shots with on one of my Spotties about 5 years ago, but no
flowers or anything, just coins and stuff.  Nothing great or
extensive.

This is certainly my first try with a "true macro" lens.  It's really
the only one of about 10 macro shots of that day that I feel somewhat
comfortable with.  The others I missed the focus.
