there is a lot more of tonality in the hills and the sea in the color version that has gone lost in the b&w conversion, IMHO. That makes the sepia one look a bit dull in comparison. That is why the color version looks more pleasant in a means of vivid to me. Nice colors, especially the water. makes me want to be on the seaside! Maybe a different conversion would deliver a different picture, as we've just seen from Paul.

The madonna looks very etherical with the cramy tones against the dark tones of the surrounding wall, beautyful!
