A Sharpie is an indelible ink felt tip marker that will mark on anything.
The "fat" point Sharpie is often used as a laundry marker.

The label side of a CD is very sensitive. I don't know what a sharpie is,
but it is better to use a designated marker, or write on a CD label
before attaching it to the CD.
