Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad

The Durango to Singleton run used to be a narrow gauge spur from the main
tracks. I guess it is all that is now left. At least they don't paint the
locomotives in cartoon colors like the Tweezy thing here in Boone. I understand
it is the only working (actually goes from somewhere to somewhere else) steam
(and narrow gauge) railroad left.

I have always wanted to do that ride. I understand that they have, or used to
have, photography specials where they would drop you at scenic spots back up
the train and run through for photographs.

I seem to recall it's the Denver & Rio Grande, but I'd have to look it up. Ouray and the rest of that part of Colorado remain among my favorite destinations. I hope to relocate to the area in the future.

Thanks for the note.
