I ordered one from B&H. It's a little slow at the long end, but if it performs as well as the DA 16-45, I can live with the small ap. Should be a lot of fun for street shooting since it's so compact and inconspicuous. And teamed with the aforementioned lens, it should make a nice travel kit.

I received a notification that it was in stock at B&H yesterday. I just looked (search for "pentax 50-200") ... it's there.

While it's likely a nice lens, I don't think I'll be needing one. It is short and inconspicuous at the 50mm focal length setting, but it's as long as an A200/4 at the 200mm setting.

I don't see how you do "street shooting" with a 200mm lens on 16x24mm format anyway ... even a 50mm lens on the DS is a portrait telephoto, a 200mm lens is the equivalent of a 300mm field of view in 35mm film camera terms ... WAY too long for any of the sense of intimacy which I feel is the hallmark of street shooting. I use a 24mm or 28mm lens for street shooting with the *ist DS, a 35-40mm lens with a 35mm film camera. :-)
