I'll second what Herb said about device driver problems but offer two
more insights:

1 - The upgrade to Win2k is actually pretty painless. I went from Win98
to Win2k and was amazed at how easy it was.

2 - You can get around Microsoft's privacy-invasive "active
registration" pretty easily with a keygen (key generator) crack. Keygen
packages are available on the net if you search hard enough :) and I
don't have any ethical issues with using them as long as I actually buy
a legitimate copy of the software in question and use the keygen only to
protect my privacy. I'm buying a copy of Photoshop CS2 today at the
university computer store after getting a keygen for it.
