I agree with you on all points here. Note that it's not that JavaScript
in itself is dangerous so much as JavaScript in conjunction with a
browser security hole (like the one that's discovered next week, or next
month or next year).

The one thing that's made me stick with Internet Explorer rather than
Firefox is the "Security Zones" feature of MSIE which allows me to let
only selected web sites to run JavaScript. Firefox has this kind of
feature for image loading, cookies and pop-ups, but not JavaScript...
yet. I'm hoping it's available in the next version :)
