funny you mention this, since i suffered from the same problem a mere few
weeks ago. for some reason or another, dust had affixed itself to my
zx-5n's focusing screen and after taking it to three different camera shops
they all came to the conclusion that they couldn't clean it because the
dust was on the INSIDE of the focusing screen (how it got there is anyone's
guess). they used blowers to try to air it off which greatly worried me,
because i was afraid they'd damage my mirror or focusing screen in the
process (that never happened, fortunately).
the crazy thing is that the dust speck itself gradually came off. i bring
my camera everywhere i go, and on a few occasions left it in the passenger
seat of my car. i noticed that each time i left it in such a hot spot (NOT
RECOMMENDED btw) the dust speck would gradually move down and eventually it
flaked off the focusing screen. my guess is that the humidity in the
vehicle loosened it enough that it fell off.
personally i wouldn't worry too much about it. if it REALLY bothers you,
send it to pentax for cleaning and service.
