What camera are you using the 135 on? If it's an LX, the loss of
infinity focus could be due to sticky mirror, which causes
misalignment. That's a common problem in the LX. Even with other
bodies, it could be due to mirror alignment problems, although that
condition is more common on LX than on any other Pentax camera. Have
you checked some of your other lenses. Loss of infinity focus is harder
to detect on wider lenses.

Taken out my front window, focused to infinity, the
power line and leaves on the far right are maybe 75
feet away. The hill in behind is maybe a quarter to a
half of a mile away. The tree sticking up on the hill
was center of the frame, so this is a top-right corner
crop.
Bought this lens last year from a PDML member, just
discovered this problem earlier this year while riding
a ferry and trying to use it to take pictures of
things on shore. So it may have been something I did
to it at some point, though I don't recall anything
happening to any of my equipment that could have
caused it.
How can I fix this lens, or am I better off replacing
it?
