Adjusting lens infinity focus is easy: you just untighten 4 screws and
adjust the lens maximum focus angle in relation to the focus ring
maximum angle.
The location of these 4 screws varies from lens to lens, I know that on
an M 50mm 1.7 they are on the front of the lens, around the element
behind the black bezel ring, I believe other primes should be similar.
On the 70-210 F4.0 these screws are on the perimeter of the focus ring
below the rubber cover.

Taken out my front window, focused to infinity, the
power line and leaves on the far right are maybe 75
feet away. The hill in behind is maybe a quarter to a
half of a mile away. The tree sticking up on the hill
was center of the frame, so this is a top-right corner
crop.
Bought this lens last year from a PDML member, just
discovered this problem earlier this year while riding
a ferry and trying to use it to take pictures of
things on shore. So it may have been something I did
to it at some point, though I don't recall anything
happening to any of my equipment that could have
caused it.
How can I fix this lens, or am I better off replacing
it?
