On my M42 Prakticas my favourite normal lens was the Zeiss
2.4/35, used it about twice as much as the Zeiss 1.8/50. Both were
fantastic lenses. (Recently I sold all my M42 gear except the Zeiss
1.8/80.)
On my Pentaxes, I had only a Chinon 2.8/35 and the Pentax M
1.4/50 was so much better that it wasn't a question. Last week I
sold the Chinon and bought a Pentax M 2/35. It feels very well on
my LX, so chances are that I'll be back to the 35mm normal soon...
